WHAT ARE THE DEFECTS
A part of the gas supply pipe may break or develop a hole. This may cause a gas leak.
If the gas leaks in the presence of an ignition source this may lead to an explosion and/or fire, which may result in serious illness, injury or death.
The defect has caused incidents that have caused serious injuries and burns.
If gas leaks and builds up in an enclosed area, such as a motorhome or caravan, asphyxiation may occur
WHAT SHOULD “YOU” THE CONSUMER DO?
Consumers should check if their appliance is affected and if so immediately turn off the appliance and do not operate it on gas.
The gas supply to the appliance can be isolated at the gas isolation valve, adjacent to the appliance.
To identify affected appliances, open the glass lid and check the model number on the data plate that is located on the inside front left side of the lid.
Consumers must ensure that Gas Cooker units are serviced and tested every 2-3 years.
