G'day, my name is Glen Harris, Our family took your 24 ft Daintree caravan 11 thousand km to Roper River, Daly Water Gibb River Road and amazingly the road through Kalumburu to honeymoon cove, then through Qld. I am amazed that it made it through where we have been. The electric brakes blew out, so we travelled back to Broome to be repaired. I siliconed a few things back together, but a bloody riper caravan. Cheers
We are planning the big lap and needed a van that was big enough to have the essentials and tough enough to go off the tar and explore the great outdoors. We looked at a LOT of vans, most ticked some boxes, only one ticked all the boxes - the Roadstar Safari Tamer.
From the moment I stepped into the Safari Tamer I had to have it. Tonka tough with 5 star luxury interior.
Can you spend a week inside your van in the rain - I know I can quite happily without getting cabin fever.
Dealing with Ken and the team has been a breeze and nothing has been to much trouble - this includes fixing the slight mistakes we as owners have made.
We have taken our ST down a chicken track and it didn't even flinch - nothing moved in the cupboards either. Testament to the quality of the build.
Would I recommend Roadstar as a manufacturer - you bet your bottom dollar I would. They are open, communicate well, and deliver a quality product on time and with no hidden costs.
Buy a Roadstar you will not be sorry. We look forward to many happy years travelling in ours.
Our “Roadstar” caravan
We purchased our van, Roadstar Voyager Avalon 2000, at the 1999 caravan show in Melbourne. We then continued to Tasmania and upon our return, paid for, registered, insured, and picked up our van at Campbellfield Vic, to tow home to the NT. It is 18’6’’ on the outside and 17’ on the inside. It is 7’6” wide which makes for easy towing, if our car will fit through a space, so will the van.
While it is now 17 years old we just love it. It is spacious and has walking room for my husband and myself. We can both move around at the same time. It has ample cupboards, draws and general storage space. We had removable shelves put in the wardrobes for convenience.
I did a tally today and we have towed our van 104,796 Ks so far. We have had no problems what so ever. Because of the wheels being situated towards the back of the van it sits behind our car/s like a brick. It has a good weight and sits the road well. The suspension is by far, superior to all other vans we’ve looked at.
Next year we intend to do another West Australian trip and the year after we will go back down and into the Riverina area of South Australia and then up the Qld Coast to Townsville and home (which is Darwin). We have only just come back from a Qld trip where we visited friends on the Sunshine Coast and then towed up into the Gulf of Carpentaria, to Normanton and Karumba.
This van has been around Australia a few times and there are not many places it hasn’t been. .
The only thing I would change is to tack a shower and toilet to the back – ensuite. It does have a porta potti but a shower would be nice as some of the ablution blocks aren’t very clean.
We can’t speak highly enough of our Roadstar Van.
Les and Kerry Bishop
We have been the proud owners of our Roadstar Voyager since November 2015. We started travelling full time last month and loving it. The photo is of us setting up on the river at Texas, Queensland.
Before purchasing our Roadstar 2015 Safari Tamer, we researched all off road caravans and brands to find Roadstar far superior in build quality. From the finest detail in how they seal their vans to the finish and detail we were amazed of the pride and professionalism behind the company. Hubby and I have travelled around Australia and have gone off the beaten track several times, trouble free. Initially we had some teething issues, but Roadstar were more than helpful. From initial contact and factory tour, we could see the true value of why Roadstar outshines the rest and not just any van on the road.
Thought I'd drop you an email to Thank you all again on your wonderful service and fantastic Roadstar caravan that we bought from down in Victoria in June this year 2014.
We've been out and about in the Van a few times, and we so in love with our van we don't want to come home or return to work. Ohhh retirement is only 10 years away on the count down now.
Every time we take it out people are just impressed with the van. Some people have even said that "They are not into caravanning but if this is what you get to choose these days, then they could live the life."
Congratulations to all your team as you are changing peoples mind concept of caravans.
We are so glad that we found and bought our first Roadstar van. If and when we ever have to buy another we will not be looking around we know we would buy another.
You have just done a wonderful job so congrats again.
We have completed a short stay in our new van & it is fabulous.
We want to thank you, in particular, the successful outcome of discussions on colours, suspension & layout variations.
Our colour choice is middle of the road & should not date as some of the other darker finishes will do. The cabinetry is a standout feature & was instrumental in our purchasing decision.
Would you also pass on our appreciation to Noel & his team for correctly interpreting our emails & producing a well built, functional caravan.
My experience was pressure free and extremely comfortable I felt they were interested in my needs. The whole experience felt personal and they were there to assist me every step of the way.
As a single female, it is important to feel comfortable and that the guidance being given is right for you. There was never a time that I haven't felt confident in the advice, help and after sale service.
